Principal Applied AI Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Applied AI Architect to shape the technical direction of Allexive as we help AI‑aware organisations become AI‑operational. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, solution design and hands‑on delivery, working with mid‑market and enterprise clients across New Zealand and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and define solution architecture for AI projects spanning build, platform implementation and enterprise AI infrastructure.
• Set technical patterns, review implementation quality and guide engineering teams and delivery partners.
• Translate complex client problems into clear, actionable technical road‑maps, identifying what to build, what to defer and associated risks.
• Prototype, pressure‑test patterns, debug and unblock technical issues, including code and architecture reviews.
• Validate feasibility of solutions before they are scaled, ensuring alignment with client operating models.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering production‑grade Generative AI systems for mid‑market or enterprise customers.
• Hands‑on ability to prototype, review and troubleshoot AI solutions, while providing technical leadership.
• Deep familiarity with agentic development frameworks such as Google ADK, Microsoft MAF, Claude Agents SDK (two or more preferred).
• Full‑stack AI fluency covering prompt engineering, caching, structured outputs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, context engineering and workflow integration.
• Experience with LLM operations including evaluations, observability, prompt versioning, safety patterns and cost management.
