About the role
We are seeking a highly organised Personal Assistant to support the Director of Biodiversity National Programmes. Based at Conservation House in Wellington, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the directorate runs smoothly, bridging policy, operations and ministerial engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Director’s diary, email inbox, travel arrangements and meeting preparation.
- Coordinate and quality‑assure correspondence, including Ministerial, Parliamentary and OIA material.
- Track actions, milestones and review points across directorate work programmes.
- Organise meeting logistics, prepare papers, take minutes and follow up on actions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and support staff.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgement.
- Anticipate upcoming priorities to keep the directorate operating efficiently.
Required profile
- Proven experience in executive support, personal assistance or a similar administrative role.
- Strong coordination abilities and capacity to manage multiple, shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
- Proactive approach to workflow management and anticipating needs.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, central government and Ministerial processes.
