About the role
High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) is seeking a Performance Team Leader to shape the nation’s high‑performance sport system. Based in Auckland, you will work closely with national sport organisations (NSOs) to drive strategic investment, advice and partnership that deliver world‑class results.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and deepen HPSNZ’s relationships with NSOs, ensuring alignment with performance goals.
- Provide strategic support, investment guidance and expert advice to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Lead the Performance Partnerships team in delivering high‑performance programmes.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to enhance all facets of sporting performance.
Required profile
- Recent experience in a high‑performance sport environment within a national sport organisation.
- Strong strategic thinking and innovative problem‑solving abilities in complex settings.
- Proven track record of building and influencing constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive high‑performance culture with wellbeing as a priority.
- Experience working with both able‑bodied and para‑sport contexts is advantageous.
- Professional conduct, trust‑based relationship building, and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to influence change with decisiveness, confidence and emotional stability.
