People & Culture Coordinator – Contract

About the role
We are looking for an organised and proactive People & Culture Coordinator to support a prominent government organisation. This contract position focuses on clearing an HR administrative backlog while providing day‑to‑day generalist HR support.
Key responsibilities
- Audit, update and organise employee files, training records and compliance data within the HRIS to clear backlog.
- Prepare contracts, conduct pre‑employment checks and coordinate onboarding and induction schedules.
- Schedule interviews, manage candidate correspondence and support recruitment activities.
- Serve as the first point of contact for internal queries on policies, leave and general HR administration.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a People & Culture or HR Coordinator / team admin role (public‑sector experience a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high‑volume data cleansing.
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of discretion.
- Availability to work onsite four days a week with one day of remote flexibility.
