People & Culture Advisor

About the role

Join Qube Ports NZ as a People & Culture Advisor in Mount Maunganui and partner with operational leaders across the country. You will provide hands‑on HR and employee‑relations support in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert People & Culture and employee‑relations advice to business leaders and staff.
• Lead investigations, disciplinary processes and performance‑management actions.
• Prepare employment agreements, variations and other HR documentation.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment campaigns, including onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Coach leaders on people management, ER issues and best practices.
• Support workforce planning, succession discussions and organisational development initiatives.
• Contribute to policy development, review and implementation.
• Uphold safe‑work practices and support wellbeing initiatives.
• Assist with employee engagement activities and drive continuous improvement of HR processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in HR or employment relations.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment law and confidence handling ER issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage difficult conversations.
• Practical, solutions‑focused approach with solid administration and computer skills.
• Relevant HR or employment‑relations qualification.
