People Coordinator

About the role

Silver Fern Farms is looking for a People Coordinator to join its team at its Pacific site in Hastings. Reporting to the Site Manager, the role is the first point of contact for day-to-day queries and supports seasonal recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and learning activities, while keeping systems and processes running smoothly. It works closely with the Regional People Advisor, Employment Coordinator, site leaders and the wider People team.

Key responsibilities

• In partnership with Production Leaders, improve team member engagement and attendance
• Support Regional People Advisors so that people processes and policies are applied consistently and accurately, in line with Silver Fern Farms' expectations and standards
• Support seasonal recruitment, including advertising, interviews and new employee documentation
• Support the training team with the onboarding process for all new seasonal staff

Required profile

• Ideally significant experience in an administration or coordination role
• Experience in a unionised, shift-based and/or multi-site manufacturing environment
• Some understanding of NZ employment law, collective agreements and industrial relations practices
• Strong relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills; practical, customer-focused and responsive

Required skills

• Highly developed administration skills with attention to accuracy
