People Advisory Lead

About the role

The People Advisory Lead will partner with NZTE leaders to deliver high‑quality people advisory services across the organisation. You will coach leaders, streamline employment processes and ensure consistent, timely support for people‑related matters. The role is hybrid and can be based in any NZTE office in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with leaders, People Business Partners, Payroll, Talent Acquisition and external providers to deliver people advisory work.
• Coordinate employment framework reviews, terms and conditions, and manage related documentation and approval pathways.
• Lead the operational delivery of employment relations matters, providing risk‑aware advice and coaching leaders.
• Prepare and maintain high‑quality letters, agreements, templates, consultation material and change documentation.
• Support organisational change and consultation processes, ensuring compliance and efficient delivery.
• Introduce workflow discipline and visibility for repeatable people processes, including retrospectives and record keeping.
• Own continuous improvement of templates, SOPs and documentation standards.
• Identify and implement AI‑enabled automation opportunities to improve speed and consistency.
• Contribute to project work as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR advisory or people‑business partnering.
• Strong knowledge of employment frameworks, terms and conditions, and employment relations.
• Ability to coach and build confidence in leaders handling people issues.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
