Part‑time Café Assistant (Whangarei)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly part‑time Café Assistant to join our community hub at Summerset’s Whangarei village. You will help create a warm atmosphere for residents, families and visitors by delivering high‑quality coffee and light meals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve food and beverages to a high standard.
• Provide barista services, including coffee brewing and machine maintenance.
• Assist with catering for village events and resident functions.
• Handle cash transactions and reconcile daily takings.
• Work closely with the Chef Manager, Café Supervisor and wider village team.

Required profile

• Positive, warm personality with a passion for hospitality.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Previous experience in hospitality or café environments.
• Proficient barista skills.
