Part-Time Registered Nurse (Aged Care)

About the role

Summerset is seeking a part‑time Registered Nurse to join the care team at its Trentham village. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, resident‑directed aged‑care services and enhancing the daily lives of long‑term residents.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residents’ everyday clinical needs, including routine care and end‑of‑life support.
• Develop, implement and review long‑term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Take charge of the care centre during assigned shifts, making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Provide planned nursing care in partnership with residents and families, evaluating progress and adjusting care as needed.
• Guide and supervise caregivers on the shift, ensuring safe and effective practice.
• Build trusted relationships with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• A current NZ Nursing Registration and practising certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older people in a retirement‑village setting.
• Proven ability to lead, stay calm under pressure and demonstrate emotional resilience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
