Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care (Hamilton, NZ)

About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our busy Urgent Care Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand. The role involves autonomous clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team, caring for roughly 140 patients daily and 50,000 annually. You will work with a diverse case mix ranging from minor illnesses to higher‑acuity urgent presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients across a broad spectrum of urgent care conditions.
• Provide autonomous clinical decisions while collaborating with doctors, nurses and other health professionals.
• Contribute to service development, clinical education, quality improvement and model‑of‑care initiatives.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring and community health outreach as needed.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
• Confident managing acute medical and injury presentations.
• Comfortable working autonomously within scope of practice.
• Calm, adaptable, clinically curious and strong communicator.
• Committed to patient‑centred, equitable, high‑quality care.
