Non‑Executive Director

About the role

This is a strategic, non‑executive board position for a privately owned New Zealand wine distribution business. You will join a two‑director board and help shape the commercial growth strategy across hospitality, grocery and independent retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and oversight as a board member.
• Develop and sharpen commercial growth strategies for key market channels.
• Support the General Manager in executing the business plan with confidence.
• Contribute to supply‑chain and market‑entry decisions.
• Ensure good governance and compliance with board standards.

Required profile

• Previous GM or CEO experience in a privately owned business.
• Deep FMCG or consumer‑goods expertise across New Zealand’s grocery, on‑premise and independent retail sectors.
• Proven track record of building commercial strategy from the ground up.
• Board or governance experience; an IoD qualification is a plus.
• Strong supply‑chain literacy and a genuine affinity for the wine or beverage industry.
