Mining Digital Product Owner

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking a Mining Digital Product Owner to lead the delivery of digital solutions for terrain grading and loading. You will act as the primary interface between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring that backlog items are well‑defined, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the team backlog, structuring, prioritising and continuously refining work items.
• Ensure features and stories have clear problem context, acceptance criteria, dependencies and constraints.
• Drive backlog hygiene and traceability to keep work visible and actionable.
• Lead backlog refinement sessions and present top‑priority items during sprint planning.
• Provide clarification during execution to unblock the team and keep delivery aligned with outcomes.
• Act as the day‑to‑day stakeholder liaison, managing priorities, dependencies and conflict resolution.
• Validate story acceptance against the Definition of Done and capture verification evidence.
• Maintain delivery visibility and accurate representation of planned work.
• Foster strong relationships with delivery teams, product leadership and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Industry knowledge of mining trends, challenges and operational workflows.
• Deep understanding of the Terrain for Grading and Loading solution and mining operational constraints.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities using structured approaches and tools.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and structured delivery methodologies.
