Mechanical Engineering Summer Internship (12 weeks)

About the role

Join Aurecon’s 12‑week paid summer internship and work on real engineering consultancy projects. You’ll be placed in either the Energy & Industrial team or the Buildings team, gaining hands‑on experience in mechanical engineering within New Zealand’s major cities.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of mechanical systems for industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, energy infrastructure or building services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Asia‑Pacific region.
• Participate in the Intern Learning Series and Leadership Series to develop professional skills.
• Contribute to project documentation and technical reports.

Required profile

• Currently studying Mechanical Engineering (or related) – preferably in the penultimate year.
• Interest in industrial process & energy systems or mechanical building services.
• Available full‑time for 12 weeks from mid‑November 2026 to February 2027 (including a two‑week holiday break).
• Strong curiosity, communication and teamwork mindset.
