Manufacturing Engineer II – Avionics

About the role
Rocket Lab is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II – Avionics to support the production and testing of its launch vehicles. In this role you will work in a fast‑growing environment, collaborating with engineers, technicians and subject‑matter experts to ensure that avionics hardware is built and delivered on schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate production of current and future Rocket Lab vehicles, focusing on avionics assemblies.
- Develop, optimize and document manufacturing and test processes using Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Create and maintain Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) and associated action plans to mitigate risk.
- Lead root‑cause investigations for production stoppages and implement corrective actions.
- Prototype, test and integrate new equipment or tooling, preparing RFQs as needed.
- Generate and approve technical documentation and ensure compliance with departmental KPIs.
Required profile
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or avionics.
- Ability to work autonomously and lead cross‑functional investigations.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
