About the role
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join its Wellington National Office. This full‑time role will support the financial administration and accounting services for NZNO and its related entities, ensuring robust financial management across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage monthly and year‑end accounting processes, including budgeting, reporting and financial close.
- Maintain and improve internal control systems and risk mitigation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation and handle all tax reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, investment advisors and other professional partners.
- Prepare not‑for‑profit financial statements and reports for charitable trusts.
Required profile
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Proven experience in accounting, budgeting, reporting and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and solve problems.
- Commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supporting NZNO’s values.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Tax compliance expertise.
- Not‑for‑profit reporting experience.
