Maintenance Electrical Engineer

About the role

This permanent position is for an experienced Maintenance Electrical Engineer in a well‑established manufacturing business. You will be responsible for keeping production machinery and site plant operating safely and efficiently, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on production equipment and plant.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise unplanned stoppages.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance and repairs when required.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and record all activities in the maintenance management system.
• Collaborate with production, stores and dispatch teams to coordinate maintenance work.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
• Support and mentor apprentices or new team members as needed.

Required profile

• City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience of Portable Appliance Testing.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with production machinery and site plant.
• Understanding of dynamic risk assessments.
