Machinery Operator – Large Farm

About the role

Join Haycocks Station, a 6,242‑ha Pāmu farm in the Mavora Valley, as a Machinery Operator. You will operate and maintain a fleet of four John Deere tractors, supporting a diverse livestock operation of sheep, beef and deer.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and coordinate maintenance of four John Deere tractors and associated machinery.
• Perform tasks such as feeding out, gravelling, grading roads, heavy rolling, mowing, and carting fencing gear.
• Maintain fertiliser and seed levels, conduct general farm maintenance, and assist with other farm duties as needed.
• Keep accurate records and reports, and help train and induct new staff.

Required profile

• Experience with farm tractors and machinery.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and prioritize health, safety, animal welfare and environmental compliance.
• Strong communication with managers, staff, contractors and suppliers.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence.

Required skills

• John Deere tractor operation.
