Line Shift Lead – Dryer

About the role

Danone is seeking an experienced Line Shift Lead for the dryer line at its Balclutha manufacturing plant. You will lead a team of Equipment Owners, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality production while driving continuous improvement and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shift operations to meet production, quality, safety and performance targets.
• Coach, develop and support Equipment Owners, building capability and accountability.
• Champion safety by identifying hazards, reporting incidents and driving corrective actions.
• Monitor performance, implement improvements to reduce losses and optimise efficiency.
• Conduct shift handovers and ensure clear communication across teams and departments.
• Support problem‑solving, root‑cause investigations and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Maintain compliance with food‑safety, quality and manufacturing standards.
• Keep accurate production documentation, reporting and performance tracking.
• Assist maintenance planning and breakdown analysis to maximise equipment reliability.
• Promote Danone values and nurture a positive, high‑performing team culture.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory or team‑leadership role.
• Background in dairy, food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar processing environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Relevant qualification in manufacturing, engineering, food technology or a related discipline is advantageous.
• Hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys developing people.
