Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Based in Rocket Lab’s Auckland facility, the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that all procured parts and processes meet the company’s rigorous quality standards. You will lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, translating technical requirements into clear specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing Supplier Quality Engineering team.
• Create, review, and manage non‑conformance reports and supplier concessions.
• Plan and conduct supplier audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define quality requirements for new and existing parts.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, cost, and lead time.
• Maintain robust supplier quality documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead teams in a dynamic, technical environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external partners.
• Experience in aerospace or high‑technology manufacturing supply chains is preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of implementing quality processes and achieving cost reductions.
