Lead Java Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Java Developer to drive our mission‑critical enterprise software projects. Based in Porirua, you will combine hands‑on coding with technical leadership, guiding a team of Java and React engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance while actively contributing code in Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications using React.
• Own product ownership, ensuring features are built with real business impact.
• Mentor junior developers and foster best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
