Laboratory Manager - Food Safety & Quality

About the role

Kraft Heinz is hiring a permanent Laboratory Manager for its Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) team in Tomoana, New Zealand. The role sits within a collaborative and dynamic team with a strong track record of internal growth and career advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running and administration of the laboratory.
• Ensure laboratory accreditation to IANZ and ISO 17025.
• Lead and develop laboratory team members.
• Lead investigations of micro-related issues in the plant and ensure the lab is involved in factory hygiene systems.
• Carry out assigned tasks in line with Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs and goals.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Science, Microbiology or similar.
• Strong, proven experience in microbiological testing, laboratory signatory work, people supervision and leadership.
• Ability to adapt or improve existing methods and to implement significant process, system or product changes.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• LIMS database experience desired.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with FSQ and production teams.
