Junior SOC Analyst – Auckland (Hybrid)

About the role

We are expanding our Security Operations Centre in Auckland and are looking for a motivated Junior SOC Analyst. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, with mentorship from senior security professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts across SIEM, EDR, IDS and other platforms.
• Perform initial triage and investigation of alerts and incidents.
• Follow established playbooks to assess and escalate potential threats.
• Document investigations, incidents and remediation activities accurately.
• Support senior analysts during incident response engagements.
• Assist with network and endpoint investigations under guidance.
• Participate in threat detection, analysis and SOC process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong passion for cybersecurity and defensive operations.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to produce clear documentation.
