IT Support Engineer

About the role

Skills Group is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer to join its IT Services team at the Highbrook campus. You will provide first‑line technical support to staff and learners across three Auckland campuses, both onsite and remotely, ensuring technology runs smoothly for education and business activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365, Windows and network issues.
• Configure, deploy and maintain laptops, tablets, printers and other IT equipment.
• Coordinate onboarding, off‑boarding and user account administration.
• Support classroom technology and specialised IT services on all campuses.
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset registers and service‑desk tickets.
• Travel between Auckland campuses as required, using a clean NZ driver licence.

Required profile

• Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 1‑2 years of experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, Helpdesk or Technical Support role.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
