IT Network and Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled IT Network & Systems Engineer to join our Christchurch team. The role involves designing, implementing and supporting resilient, scalable infrastructure across cloud (AWS, Azure) and on‑prem environments, ensuring security, performance and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem platforms.
• Support and maintain core systems including networking, servers, storage and virtual environments.
• Monitor system performance, respond to incidents and resolve root causes.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity and high‑availability solutions.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects and roadmap initiatives.
• Work with vendors and third‑party providers to optimise systems.
• Ensure systems meet security, compliance and best‑practice standards.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Maintain documentation, change‑management processes and adoption of new technologies.
• Provide guidance and support to wider team members.

Required profile

• 3‑4+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems or network engineering.
• Proactive problem‑solver who works autonomously and manages competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, communication and collaborative skills.
• Genuine passion for technology and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
