About the role
We are seeking a motivated Investigative Journalist to join our editorial team on a remote, contract basis. You will research, pitch, and produce in‑depth stories that inform and engage a diverse audience while working independently within a flexible 10‑40 hour weekly commitment.
Key responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and develop original news stories, features, and investigative articles.
- Conduct interviews, gather firsthand insights, and verify facts using authoritative sources.
- Write clear, compelling, and accurate content tailored to varied audiences.
- Edit and proofread articles to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and fellow journalists to enhance overall content quality.
- Monitor current events, trends, and issues relevant to assigned beats.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a journalist with a strong portfolio of published work.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct interviews and synthesize complex information.
- Self‑motivated, able to meet tight deadlines while working remotely.
- High curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking.
- Solid understanding of media law, ethics, and best practices.
