About the role
Halter is looking for an Intermediate Firmware Engineer to help scale its smart‑cattle collar platform across international markets. You will own the firmware lifecycle from concept to mass deployment, ensuring reliability, low power consumption, and seamless over‑the‑air updates.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and ship new firmware features and performance enhancements.
- Improve quality and testing frameworks for embedded code.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and data teams to deliver high‑impact functionality quickly.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Monitor fleet performance and refine monitoring tools and processes.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering complex embedded firmware for resource‑constrained devices.
- Passion for solving hard technical problems and delivering customer‑focused features.
- Strong team player who gives and receives constructive feedback.
- Comfortable working with low‑level hardware and ultra‑low‑power designs.
- A degree in engineering (software, electronics, mechatronics) is a plus but not mandatory.
