About the role

Join SJ Allen Holdings as a Hydro Vac Operator in Queenstown, Otago. You will be responsible for cleaning stormwater sumps using hydro vac equipment on a six‑month contract, working full‑time on‑site with the autonomy to manage your own tasks and deliver high‑quality results.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hydro vac machinery to clean and maintain stormwater sumps.
• Transport equipment and personnel safely using a Class 4 driver licence.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and reporting of equipment condition.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards on site.
• Document progress and any issues for the project manager.

Required profile

• Valid Class 4 driver licence.
• Proven experience operating hydro vac or similar heavy‑equipment for stormwater cleaning.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Availability for a six‑month contract in Queenstown.
