Human Resources Manager – Project Operations

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead day‑to‑day HR operations on a large infrastructure programme in Auckland. The role is hands‑on, embedded in the project team and responsible for delivering the full HR function for a diverse, international workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver daily HR operations for a large project workforce.
• Provide real‑time HR support to frontline leaders and site teams.
• Manage complex employee‑relations and industrial‑relations issues.
• Oversee high‑volume recruitment, onboarding and workforce mobilisation.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies, processes and compliance requirements.
• Support workforce planning and resourcing in a dynamic environment.
• Drive engagement, performance management and productivity.
• Lead, coach and support a small HR team of four direct reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational HR roles within large, complex organisations or projects.
• Background supporting construction, infrastructure, engineering or similar environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume, fast‑paced HR activity.
• Experience working with international and highly diverse teams.
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment law and industrial relations.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Confidence working directly with frontline leaders and handling competing priorities.
