HR Business Partner (12‑month parental leave contract)

About the role

AoFrio is seeking a hands‑on HR Business Partner for a 12‑month parental‑leave contract. You will work in a fast‑growing tech environment, partnering with leaders across product, engineering and operations to drive people strategy and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR business partnering for a medium‑sized, technology‑focused team.
• Own full‑cycle recruitment, ensuring rapid hiring to meet business needs.
• Manage payroll operations with high accuracy and compliance.
• Handle complex employee‑relations cases, applying deep knowledge of NZ employment law.
• Drive AI‑enabled improvements to the employee lifecycle, workforce planning and engagement.
• Implement talent and skills frameworks and support remuneration reviews.
• Utilise Hibob HRIS and AI automation tools to streamline HR processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience, preferably in technology companies.
• Proven operational strength and ability to partner with senior leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing payroll and full‑cycle recruitment at pace.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and employee‑relations best practices.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to test ideas against data.
• Collaborative style suited to a small, multinational team.
