HR Advisor - King Street

About the role

The HR Advisor at the King Street site reports to the Senior HR Business Partner and acts as the first point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters. The role covers practical support of HR processes and people initiatives, coaching leaders through people matters and helping drive engagement across the site. It works closely with the Senior HR Business Partner (Hawke's Bay), Payroll and Global Business Services.

Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR enquiries, giving timely, practical advice
• Coach and support managers and employees to apply HR policies and procedures fairly and consistently
• Support people processes such as performance management, sickness absence, disciplinary matters and grievances
• Deliver site HR inductions for new employees and support a smooth start
• Partner with Payroll to keep Kronos work codes and schedules accurate, and support leave and payroll queries
• Work with Global Business Services on employee lifecycle administration, including new hire set-up and contract/letter requests, including contract drafting and management
• Support benefits administration and help resolve HR, payroll and GBS issues quickly and sensitively

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand
• Strong written and verbal communication, with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
• Good organisation and time management, able to meet deadlines and handle competing priorities
• A positive, practical approach, confident working with people at all levels
• Experience supporting employee relations processes (performance, absence, disciplinary, grievances) in a coached/support role

Required skills

• Experience using Workday or another HR information system (HRIS)
