About the role
Join a supportive, values‑driven team at Duart Village in Hastings, helping residents live with dignity, comfort and connection each day. As a Healthcare Assistant you will deliver person‑centred care in a calm, respectful environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personal care while maintaining dignity, privacy and comfort.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
- Observe and respond to physical and emotional needs, escalating concerns when required.
- Build warm, respectful relationships with residents, families and whānau.
- Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and independence.
- Follow individual care plans and collaborate closely with Registered Nurses.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families and the wider team.
- Uphold health, safety and infection‑control practices.
Required profile
- Minimum of 1 year experience in caregiving, aged care or a similar role.
- Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to caring for older adults.
- Strong communication abilities and a team‑focused mindset.
- Commitment to safety, dignity and resident‑centred care.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and night shifts.
