Healthcare Assistant – Aged Care

About the role
Join Oceania’s aged‑care villages in Auckland as a Healthcare Assistant and help older residents live with dignity, comfort and independence. You will work alongside registered nurses and a supportive team to deliver person‑centred care in a safe, welcoming environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personal care while maintaining residents’ privacy and dignity.
- Assist with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
- Observe and respond to physical and emotional needs, escalating concerns when required.
- Build respectful relationships with residents, families and whānau.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment that promotes wellbeing.
- Follow individual care plans and collaborate closely with registered nurses.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families and the wider team.
- Uphold health, safety and infection‑control practices.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, caregiver or similar role.
- A compassionate, patient and respectful approach to caring for older adults.
- Strong communication skills and a team‑focused mindset.
- Commitment to safety, dignity and resident‑centred care.
- Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including weekends and night shifts.
