Head of Showroom

About the role

Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to take charge of its Showroom operations. As Head of Showroom you will oversee multiple product categories, drive sales performance and ensure an exceptional customer experience across the store.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Kitchen & Bathroom, Plumbing, Storage & Flooring, Lighting and Paint departments.
• Develop team capability, set sales targets and monitor profitability.
• Maintain high store standards, health & safety compliance and visual merchandising.
• Participate in the operational Duty Manager roster, including one weekend day per week.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in sales and people leadership, preferably in big‑box retail or grocery.
• Previous role as Store Manager or Department/Assistant Manager in a similar format.
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
