Full-Time Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

About the role
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will support the nursing team by safely preparing, administering, and documenting resident medications in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. This full‑time, onsite position works under the direction of the attending physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing Services.
Key responsibilities
- Follow all facility policies and procedures for medication administration.
- Accurately prepare, administer, and record oral and topical medications.
- Identify and report medication errors, drug receipt errors, and any discrepancies.
- Assist in developing programs to track and prevent medication errors.
- Complete required forms, charts, and reports related to medication administration.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists, and the Medical Director.
- Participate in quality‑assurance initiatives, committee meetings, and government inspections.
- Verify and document medications brought in by newly admitted residents.
- Manage medication labeling, destruction, and holding procedures as per policy.
Required profile
- Current certification or registration as a Certified Medication Aide.
- Experience in medication administration within a residential or long‑term care setting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Effective communication skills for reporting errors and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and complete administrative tasks.
