Full Stack Software Engineer - Smartly

About the role

Smartly, a Datacom company, builds a SaaS online payroll product used by more than 20,000 businesses. As a Full Stack Engineer you will work on the Smartly Payroll System. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of front-end and back-end experience, can solve problems and write clean code, and will mentor junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day delivery of assigned work, clarify feature-level ambiguity, manage tasks, support releases and verify outcomes in production.
• Contribute to team delivery by giving realistic input on effort, raising risks and blockers early and communicating progress clearly.
• Contribute to team quality through testing, code reviews, safe change practices and attention to correctness, maintainability, security and performance.
• Use modern tooling, automation and AI-assisted development in a practical, controlled way.
• Support less experienced engineers through collaboration, review feedback and strong engineering practice.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience on IT projects across multiple phases of the SDLC.
• Recent C# .NET experience with at least 2 years of .NET development.
• Experience with web front-end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React or ASP.NET Razor.
• Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles and object-oriented programming.
• Knowledge of software configuration management with tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with service-oriented frameworks.
• Ability to implement features, unit tests and fix complex bugs.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
