Freelance Cisco Field Engineer – New Zealand

About the role

We are an Australian‑based company looking for qualified freelance Cisco Field Engineers to perform on‑site network activities across several locations in New Zealand. The role supports remote interventions by collaborating with a central engineer while working directly at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Rack‑mount and configure Cisco hardware units on‑site.
• Perform cable patching, circuit turn‑up and basic testing under remote guidance.
• Console into devices using a laptop and follow instructions from a remote engineer.
• Execute basic router configurations when required.
• Assist with Cisco routing, switching, unified communications, wireless LAN, security and video‑conferencing deployments.

Required profile

• Freelance availability to travel to Auckland, Wellington, Tokoroa, Taupo, East Tamaki, Rotoura, Seaton, Palmerston and North Shore.
• Current Cisco CCNA certification.
• Proven experience with Cisco networking equipment and on‑site installations.
