Foreperson – Lead Crew in Wellington

About the role

Join Downer Wellington as a Foreperson and take charge of a construction crew, driving results while building your career in a leading infrastructure services company. You will work closely with the Supervisor to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a crew on daily construction tasks.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and brief the team on safety and work plans.
• Plan, organise and direct operations to meet project specifications.
• Operate modern machinery as required.
• Collaborate with the Supervisor and senior managers.
• Respond to after‑hours call‑outs when rostered.

Required profile

• Physically fit and motivated.
• Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements.
• Organised, systematic approach to work.
• Strong communication skills for crew, clients and managers.
• Initiative, confident decision‑making and problem‑solving.
• Availability for after‑hours call‑outs as needed.
