Financial Control Lead – New Zealand

About the role

The Financial Control Lead will be the face of Finance for the New Zealand region, working closely with global Finance teams to deliver coordinated financial reporting, analysis and control. This permanent role involves leading a team of finance professionals, providing accounting expertise, and supporting senior management and board decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review month‑end financial results, including provisions, key balance‑sheet accounts and P&L performance.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management and boards.
• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals within a centralized finance function.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting and implement robust controls in a new ERP system.
• Maintain financial control aspects, deliver accounting advice, and support external audit engagements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and implement long‑term strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification (CA) with solid experience in financial accounting or auditing, preferably from professional services or a large multinational.
• Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams, including remote members.
• Strong analytical mindset with focus on data integrity and compliance.
• Curious and proactive attitude toward process improvement and innovation.
