Finance Project Analyst (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Based in Mount Maunganui, the Finance Project Analyst will join a 12‑month fixed‑term contract within Zespri’s finance team. Working in an agile environment, the role supports strategic finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives that span systems, processes and reporting across the global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Analyse large data sets, perform scenario modelling and root‑cause analysis to support decision‑making.
• Lead finance projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, coordinating cross‑functional teams and tracking progress, risks and outcomes.
• Act as a liaison between Finance, IT and the broader business to ensure alignment.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and systems.
• Support change initiatives by embedding new tools, reporting standards and ways of working.

Required profile

• Approximately 5+ years of experience in a global finance environment within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of finance processes, data and system integration.
• Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and confidence working with data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex concepts for varied audiences.
• Certification or experience in Agile methodologies.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CA qualification preferred or in progress.
