Field Service Technician - Crown Forklifts Ashburton

About the role

Crown Equipment is a material handling equipment company with a widely distributed sales and service network across New Zealand. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Ashburton as part of the Christchurch team in Canterbury. You will perform field-based or site-based repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of Crown forklifts for customers in your assigned area, working through a well-equipped workshop.

The fleet includes mechanical battery-electric and internal combustion forklifts, with many different models, so you will have the chance to develop your skills. You will learn the products, which supports career progression, and Crown product knowledge is a bonus, though plenty of training material is available.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field-based or site-based repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of forklifts for customers across your assigned area
• Work through the well-equipped workshop
• Support customers to keep their businesses running
• Work in a collaborative team environment

Required profile

• Ideally 3 years' experience in material handling equipment, auto electrical, diesel or motor mechanic, or hydraulics (or similar overseas qualification)
• Customer-centric, solutions-focused attitude
• Team player ready to support colleagues
• Attention to detail and IT savvy
• Physically fit, as manual handling is required
• Valid driver's licence and a full pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test
• Able to travel to Australia during initial and ongoing training (NZ passport or eligibility for an Australian visa)

What we offer

• Market-related hourly rate of $30-$42 depending on experience, with time-and-a-half after 40 hours plus rostered on-call
