Family Violence and Wellbeing Practitioner – Social Worker

About the role
We are seeking a passionate Social Worker to join our Family Works Northern team and support whānau affected by family violence. You will work directly with individuals who use violence and those impacted by it, delivering practical support, advocacy and therapeutic interventions to promote safety, resilience and lasting change.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical support, advocacy and therapeutic interventions for families experiencing violence.
- Collaborate with social workers, counsellors, PSN practitioners and community/government partners.
- Deliver culturally responsive, holistic services to tamariki and their whānau.
- Work from one of our Family Works offices (South, West or Central) and travel as needed.
Required profile
- Social work qualification and full registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB).
- Current New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Experience working with children, families and an understanding of family violence.
- Experience with Tangata Whenua or diverse cultural groups.
- Strong written and oral communication, prioritisation and time‑management skills.
- Positive outlook, ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
