Experienced Beekeepers – Full-time On-site

About the role

Arataki Honey Ltd is a family‑owned apiary located in Waiotapu, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. We are seeking experienced beekeepers to join our team on a full‑time, year‑round basis. The role involves hands‑on management of our hives and production of high‑quality honey.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain bee colonies across multiple apiary sites.
• Harvest honey, process it, and ensure product quality standards.
• Monitor hive health, manage pests and diseases, and implement preventative measures.
• Record hive data, production volumes, and maintenance activities.
• Assist with seasonal expansion of the apiary and training of junior staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial beekeeping or apiary management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a family‑run business.
• Strong commitment to safety, biosecurity, and quality standards.
• Willingness to work on‑site in a rural environment.
