Executive Manager Finance

About the role

Honda New Zealand is seeking an Executive Manager Finance to lead its finance function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure robust governance and compliance, and support commercial decision‑making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting, reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax, governance and compliance activities.
• Provide strategic financial advice and commercial insights to senior leadership.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for local and international stakeholders.
• Drive the annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, treasury operations, banking relationships and funding requirements.
• Oversee GST, FBT, income tax and transfer pricing compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, financial integrity, governance and risk‑management frameworks.
• Lead statutory audits and act as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Support strategic decisions through financial modelling, business case development and performance analysis.
• Administer and govern Honda Financial Services in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as Compliance Officer for New Zealand, ensuring adherence to corporate governance standards.
• Mentor, develop and succession‑plan a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a multinational, automotive, manufacturing or retail environment.
• Proven ability to influence executive‑level decisions with commercial insight.
• Experience in transformation and change management.
