Engineering Manager – Site Maintenance & Utilities

About the role

Fonterra is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Site Maintenance, Utilities and Services teams at its Te Rapa manufacturing complex. This senior leadership position translates business strategy into operational excellence, ensuring reliable, safe and high‑quality production across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of engineering, maintenance, facilities and capital projects.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and optimise asset performance.
• Manage operational and capital budgets, business planning and investment decisions.
• Oversee asset management, site infrastructure, contractor management and capital delivery.
• Collaborate with site leadership and stakeholders to meet operational, financial, environmental and food‑safety objectives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar).
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing, processing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of asset management, maintenance strategies and plant performance optimisation.
• Experience managing operational and capital budgets and leading change initiatives.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, contractors and cross‑functional teams.
