Engineering & Facilities Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

Canary Enterprises is seeking an experienced Engineering & Facilities Manager to lead the safe, reliable and compliant operation of its manufacturing assets across Canary Foods and EasiYo. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will shape site performance, deliver capital projects and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventative and corrective maintenance programmes for all plant equipment.
• Drive equipment reliability, asset management and OEE improvement initiatives.
• Manage site facilities including utilities, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, water, steam and electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including BWOF and building services standards.
• Deliver capital projects from business case development through commissioning and hand‑over.
• Oversee maintenance and facilities budgets, CAPEX planning and expenditure performance.
• Conduct structured problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis to boost plant performance.
• Partner with Production, Quality, H&S, Supply Chain and Finance to support operational excellence.
• Develop a high‑performing engineering team through coaching and capability building.

Required profile

• Trade qualification or tertiary engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Significant senior leadership experience in engineering, maintenance or facilities within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record managing preventative maintenance programmes and asset management systems.
• Successful delivery of capital projects from concept to commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of facilities management, utilities and statutory compliance.
