About the role
Mid Argyll Hospital is seeking two Emergency Nurse Practitioners to join its 24‑hour ENP service within the A&E and inpatient departments. The posts are full‑time (36 hours and 34.5 hours per week) and involve senior nursing responsibilities, especially during out‑of‑hours periods.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Senior Nurse for the A&E department and the wider hospital when the Senior Charge Nurse is absent.
- Provide safe and effective clinical care to patients in the emergency and acute admission settings.
- Collaborate closely with local GPs who provide medical cover for the hospital and community.
- Manage, develop and evaluate the performance of the nursing team.
- Contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives and quality standards.
Required profile
- Qualified Nurse Practitioner with experience in emergency care.
- Ability to lead and make rapid decisions in a high‑pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
- Willingness to work a rotating 24‑hour service and cover out‑of‑hours shifts.
