DevOps Manager - Cloud Applications

About the role

As the DevOps Manager for Cloud Applications at One NZ you will lead the DevOps and Quality Assurance functions across multiple platforms, ensuring secure, reliable and high‑performing services. You will act as the critical link between engineering, operations and platform strategy, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of automation and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead DevOps and QA across key platforms, guaranteeing high availability and performance.
• Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and toolsets.
• Establish quality engineering practices, including automated and performance testing.
• Drive incident management excellence, root‑cause analysis and reduction of recurring issues.
• Enhance operational maturity through monitoring, observability, alerting and proactive detection.
• Manage 24x7 support, on‑call rotations and service resilience strategies.
• Plan and execute platform maintenance, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Partner with architecture and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions.
• Champion DevSecOps by embedding security, privacy and compliance into pipelines.
• Improve developer experience by streamlining tools, environments and workflows.
• Lead, mentor and develop DevOps Engineers and QA specialists.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary DevOps and QA teams.
• Strong accountability for delivering secure, reliable services.
• Ability to bridge engineering, operations and platform strategy.
• Track record of driving automation, quality and continuous improvement.
