Customer Service Operations Agent (Rental Agent)

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring a part-time, permanent Rental Operations Agent based at Nelson Airport. The role combines front-of-house customer interaction with back-of-house vehicle handling, and is open to entry-level candidates with training provided. It is a 24-hour-per-week position covering three 8-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday and Monday, in a company that operates seven days a week from 7 am to 10 pm.

Key responsibilities

• On the counter: interact with customers, market products and services, complete rental transactions, contracts and bookings.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and maintenance issues.
• Drive and park cars, and clean them inside and out in the wash bay so they are ready for customers.

Required profile

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver's licence (essential).
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or a similar role.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.
• Comfortable learning and using various computer systems to enter rental information (training provided).
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.
