Community Support Worker (RIDSAS) - Levin

About the role

NZCL is seeking empathetic and passionate Support Workers based in the Horowhenua region to join its community-based RIDSAS services. The role supports people with disabilities who are involved in the criminal justice system, helping them build independence, achieve their goals and engage safely in their community. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Support people in their daily lives so they can recognise their potential and develop the skills needed to take part in their communities.
• Implement and deliver each person's care and rehabilitation plan.
• Build positive relationships with people and their whānau.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to help people reach their rehabilitative goals.

Required profile

• Ability to work well in a team in a challenging environment, with a good level of resilience.
• Previous experience supporting people with daily living, ideally those with intellectual or physical disabilities.
• Experience working with children or youth.
• Full driver's licence is essential.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
• NZ resident or citizen, or hold a valid NZ work permit.
