Communications & Engagement Advisor

About the role

The Communications & Engagement Advisor will lead the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s communications, brand and advocacy work across New Zealand. You will use your expertise to shape compelling stories, raise awareness and inspire over 16,000 young participants and 650+ award leaders to engage with the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic communications and marketing plan that aligns with the 2030 participation goal.
• Craft and disseminate clear, compelling content for internal and external audiences, including storytelling, advocacy messages and stakeholder updates.
• Act as custodian of the award’s communications activity, ensuring consistency across all channels.
• Provide guidance and leadership to team members on communications best practices.
• Manage relationships with partners, media and community groups to amplify the award’s impact.
